A Stunning Autumn Adventure to the Poconos
Summer break is nearly in the rearview mirror as classes begin in a handful of weeks (groan!). Luckily you can give the kids something to look forward to this autumn by planning a family adventure to Woodloch Resort. Our all-inclusive Pocono Mountains resorts bring families together with endless activities, breathtaking scenery, and world-class amenities thanks to our dedicated staff.
Witness a stunning mixture of kelly green, amber orange, straw yellow, and brick red by exploring our 1,000-plus acres of Pennsylvania wilderness or by embarking on a scenic drive through the glorious Pocono countryside. Take a breather from your hectic city life and give the kids a short break from their schoolwork with an autumn escape to Woodloch’s premier Pocono Mountains resorts.
Best Scenic Drives in the Poconos
It’s rather easy to find a beautiful autumn road because the entire Pocono region offers stunning drives through mountains and valleys. Journey through the Pennsylvania mountain wilderness with a trip on these three nearby routes, all of which are minutes from our family-friendly Pocono Mountains resorts. Grab a delicious, freshly roasted coffee and a fresh homemade muffin from Gigi’s Coffee House then pack the kids in the car for an unforgettably colorful trip.
Route 507
Pick up Route 507 in Wilsonville, two miles south of Hawley. Route 507 twists and turns on the southern side of beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest lake in Pennsylvania. This route is a tranquil lake drive with stunning vistas of the sapphire blue lake and the colorful hillside.
Route 402
If you’re planning on visiting the Delaware Water Gap, home to one of the best autumn overlooks on the East Coast, head south on Route 402. This sequestered route cuts through the Poconos countryside with only two towns on a 40-mile stretch of mountain road. Route 402 also runs through the heart of the Delaware State Forest, a lush wooded wonderland. Bushkill Falls, one of the most beautiful chains of waterfalls in the country, is a short detour from the Delaware Water Gap.
U.S. Route 6
If you’re visiting Woodloch Resort from the New York City area, we recommend embarking on a small detour by picking up U.S. Route 6 in Milford. Take U.S. 6 all the way to White Mills before backtracking to our Lake Teedyuskung haven. This highway, which stretches all the way to California, is considered one of the Top Scenic Routes in America. The town of Milford is a scenic hill city with engrossing history, eclectic shopping, and beautiful Poconos vistas.
