Visit the Poconos Waterfalls near Woodloch
Springtime in the Poconos is beautiful. When the snow melts, nature comes alive with blooming wildflowers and cascading waterfalls. Springtime is also one of the best times to see Poconos waterfalls and plan a getaway to Woodloch! There are several waterfalls less than an hour away from our family resort, so you can easily plan a day trip and see them all. Discover nature’s bounty in Pennsylvania this spring!
Shohola Falls
Shohola Falls is the closest waterfall to Woodloch and a great halfway point for the other falls on the list. The trail is a short half-mile loop, perfect for families with little ones. You will see spectacular views of this 50-foot waterfall throughout your walk on the trail.
Raymondskill Falls
Raymondskill Falls is the largest waterfall in Pennsylvania and a must-visit during your Woodloch vacation! At 150 feet tall, this waterfall is an impressive sight to see. Two trails lead to an upper and lower viewing area providing different perspectives of the cascading water.
Bonus waterfall: Head across the street and hike Hackers Trail to see Hackers Falls!
Dingmans Falls
Fifteen minutes down the road from Raymondskill, you will find the second-highest waterfall in the state, Dingmans Falls. The trail is less than half a mile and offers views of two incredible waterfalls. Start on the wooden walkway until you reach Silverthread Falls dropping an impressive 80 feet. After you marvel at the falls, continue on the trail and watch for wildlife along the way. Soon after, you will reach Dingmans Falls where you can stop to sit on a bench and admire the view.
Bushkill Falls
Known as Pennsylvania’s Niagra Falls, Bushkill is a series of eight waterfalls. If you are up for a challenging hike, you can take the two-mile Red Trail to see all of the falls in the park. The falls include Bridal Veil Falls, Bridesmaid’s Falls, Pennel Falls, and Lower Gorge Falls. Have fun and happy hiking!
